Fix: The app now shows an informative screen when Canvas does not respond during a launch, instead of a generic error
Improvement: The permissions needed to manage sections are now read from the launch itself instead of from a separate Canvas API request, which makes the launch faster. To benefit from this, update the LTI installation in Canvas so that it sends the custom variable canvas_membership_permissions with the value $Canvas.membership.permissions<manage_sections_add,manage_sections_edit,manage_sections_delete>. New installations include it automatically; existing installations keep working through the Canvas API until their configuration is updated
